SAP HANA recent updates and upcoming trainings

There was a recent revision of SAP HANA made available at the end of October that provides access to major new developer features. Highlights related to the XSA Runtime include XSA SSO that supports X.509 authentication and SPNEGO and Kerberos, XSA that can be installed into a tenant instead of the SYSTEMDB, support for symbolic links when uploading apps to the XS Controller, among others. On the SAP Web IDE for SAP HANA front, new features include new project wizards, the availability of the Application Programming Model for SAP Cloud Platform for SAP HANA on prem, a new database artifact dialog, and multiple workspaces, etc. In order to access any of these new features, you'll only need to update XSA and the SAP Web IDE for SAP HANA.

How to build manageable cloud-native applications with multiple microservices

Read this blog by SAP Cloud Platform Chief Product Expert Sanjay Patil and learn how the SAP Web IDE Full-Stack and the application programming model it supports for developing end-to-end business applications can help you drive consistency of design, development and operations across the related microservices. In his blog, Sanjay addresses how to build microservices that are independent and cohesive at the same time and how to achieve greater efficiencies of design by sharing definitions of commonly used data models across the related microservices. Likewise, learn how operations can be simplified by treating the collection of related microservices as a holistic unit from the lifecycle management perspective. For these and other insights, read the blog. To sign up for your free developer edition of SAP Cloud Platform and to start building your first app, follow these tutorials.
