SAP BTP Innovations for an enhanced developer experience
SAP made a couple of announcements at SAP TechEd 2022 about innovations on SAP Business Technology Platform to enhance your development experience and support app development. Highlights include: SAP Business Application Studio is now running on the Code-OSS platform, SAP Web Components is now available to developers using any Web UI framework such as Angular, React, Vue.js and SAPUI5, and SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) is going open source! SAP TechEd 2022 brought many exciting news for SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). In addition to announcing that CAP is going open source, other news included the ability to deploy CAP apps on SAP BTP, Kyma runtime to support extension projects, support for TypeScript, conversion of CDS models to the OpenAPI Specification, GraphQL support for Node.js, and more. You can now deploy and manage artificial intelligence models that natively integrate with SAP applications with SAP AI Core, and streamline the AI lifecycle management of their use cases with SAP AI Launchpad via the SAP BTP free tier. Create an Application with SAP Build Apps: Create an application with SAP Build Apps on SAP BTP. The application, created in a browser, can be used with the Previewer App to scan physical barcodes on food packaging to display calorific information.
Build an Application in the SAP BTP, Kyma Runtime: Develop an application that reacts to events, calls business APIs, exposes APIs, and interacts with other microservices – all using SAP BTP, Kyma runtime on SAP Business Technology Platform.
Build an Application End-to-End Using CAP, Node.js and VS Code: Develop a business application using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). Start on your local environment, enhance it with an SAP Fiori UI, and add business logic to it. Add a Launch Page to start the UIs, add roles, and authorization check and enable the Logging service. Set up SAP HANA Cloud as a database and deploy your application to SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) as a Multi-Target Application (MTA).
