“Design Thinking” is an approach to problem solving popular in Silicon Valley’s startup culture. It brings together empathy, creativity, and persistence with a willingness to learn and an acceptance of failure as part of the process.
Design Tech High School, an innovative public charter school that embraces design thinking, caught the eye of the Oracle Education Fund, a nonprofit chaired by Oracle CEO Safra Catz, who wanted to support them. And, it turns out, the school had a very big need: a home.
In 2016, construction began on the Oracle headquarters campus and now the school is open, complete with an incomparable “Design Realization Garage.” See the new campus and learn more about the
first-ever high school on a tech firm campus.
