New Year in a New Organization

As we moved into the new year, the SAP Community also moved into a new organization: the office of the CTO. More specifically SAP Community, SAP Mentor Program and SAP Developer Relations are now one team under the leadership of Thomas Grassl. But you may have wondered how this reorganization affects the SAP Community Experience team itself. Read more in this blog post by SAP Community Experience team lead Gali Kling-Schneider.

SAP Community Network Reboot

There's been some traction in SAP-land regarding the SAP Community Network this month. And for once, according to SAP Mentor Derek Loranca, it's not necessarily negative. "As an SAP Mentor and long-time SCN contributor, I was heartened to see Bill publicly put his word on the line. And frankly, I was happy to see SCN moved under Bjoern Goerke's organization and then thrilled to read that Thomas Grassl would be involved, as well."

Secrets of the ABAP Debugger – Advanced

The ABAP debugger is a powerful tool helping to examine your ABAP code at runtime. Besides the common and basic features, such as stepping through your code and inspect the values of your variables, field symbols, and references, it provides helpful features that can simplify and shorten your debugging sessions. Not all of these features might be known to everyone. In this blog post Marco Dahms demonstrates his personal favorites.

Discovering SCP Workflow Component Startup

In this blog post, SAP Mentor DJ Adams looks into how a task UI starts up, where it gets the right data to display, and how it interacts with the My Inbox "host" app. If you've followed the blog series so far, you'll know we're at the point now where we're in the My Inbox app, the user task currently selected is from the beer recommendation workflow definition, and we understand how the host app (My Inbox) knows how to get the user task rendered in the detail view of the classic master-detail layout.

2017 Blog Retrospective

With the New Year, comes reflection on 2017, and the desire to further recognize some of the great contributions on the SAP Community. In that spirit, we hope you will enjoy this compilation of some of the outstanding blogs contributed last year, with a twist. The idea for this retrospective was inspired by Jelena Perfiljeva's "Blog Digest" series, where we found blogs that would not have gotten much attention otherwise.
