ABAP Is Evolving

With the SCP ABAP Environment we get to see where ABAP and ABAP tooling is going, according to SAP Mentor Graham Robinson. And we get to see it much earlier than we are used to because in the cloud SAP can deliver innovations quicker and more regularly. In this blog post, Graham offers his insights into the evolution of ABAP at SAP. "Because the SCP ABAP Environment is a subset of the ABAP platform – i.e. all ABAP platforms use the same code line – we can look forward to seeing these innovations in our familiar on-premise ABAP as well."

Member of the Month – October

October's Member of the Month: Jakob Marius Kjær. Back in April, Jakob, along with Simon Kemp, started the Coffee Corner Podcast. Billed as "SAP's unofficial community podcast," the show nonetheless has grown to become an important facet of our family. Jakob and Simon have welcomed several colleagues from the SAP Community team, notable members of the community itself, and SAP executives. But that's not the only reason he was selected, has also accomplished plenty at sap.com/community as well. He has earned both the Avid Blogger and Featured Contributor badges recently — neither of which is particularly easy to get.

How to Develop Resilient Apps on SAP Cloud Platform

What exactly is resilient software design? Why do we need it? And how do we do it? In this blog post, you'll find a quick introduction – and a tip about where to find what you need to try it out for yourself. Resilient software design is about making sure that if an unexpected error occurs, your users ideally don't even notice or, at least, your software keeps on working on a gracefully degraded level.

Bringing Tech and Non-Techs Together
At SAP TechEd Las Vegas, Marilyn Pratt delivered a presentation about "Speaking Tech to Non-Tech Types." Using an acronym: CRASHES, the session looked at some of the important ways to enhance the bi-lateral communication between techies and non-techies, business and development, geeks and suits and analysts. She covered the basics including reaching a common ground, resonance, and story-telling skills among other areas.
