Handling Time-out Scenarios in Web Dynpro ABAP
Often clients expect to display some logical message to an end-user if an application page is kept ideal for a defined time, that is, instead of the application showing a TIME OUT error. In this blog post, Harish Vyas offers a solution for how a re-usable component can be developed and used across different WDA applications, with minimal changes done to the main WDA application.

Platform Support in a Cloudy World

SAP Mentor Graham Robinson writes: "SAP gets enterprise software. They understand things like having a rock solid technical platform, scalability, and 24×7 operations. They highly value backwards compatibility too because they understand their customers want to be able to upgrade without having to make wholesale changes – or even any changes – to their custom code." It is also a huge load of baggage that SAP needs to carry around with them, he says, as SAP enhances the ABAP application server to support contemporary development techniques.
