End of year Employee Central and Compensation tips
|
|
Consider these tips to keep your EC and Compensation solutions supporting your year-end needs:
|
|
Role Based Permissions - Evaluate security roles and permissions, starting with the most generic, such as "All Employee Role". Avoid redundant roles and only provide additional roles with unique permissions on an exception basis. Remember, if users have multiple roles with the same permissions, it impacts performance; for best performance, no more than 8 roles should be assigned to any one person. A best practice is to keep the number of groups and roles as low as possible.

Position Org Chart - If Position Org Chart is being used for year-end workforce planning, ensure data is up to date. Inactivate positions that are no longer valid, and grant managers and recruiters read-only access so they can audit the accuracy of their team and view vacant positions. Standard reports (Position Details, Position Overview, Disparities between Reporting Line and Position Hierarchy) can help you audit Position Management.

Feature retirement focus
|
|
Do you use Performance Management v11 or PM v12? If so, plan on creating your next form template using our latest version, PM v12 Acceleration (PM v12A). Only this version is being enhanced, while the older versions are set to retire in coming quarters.
|
|
Compensation customers: have you already upgraded to the newest Compensation Worksheet, v12? It's easy to enable using Upgrade Center and a great way to benefit from SAP’s standard user interface (UI), Fiori.
|
|
Before your end users set 2018 goals, make sure they’re benefitting from the latest UI by enabling Goals v12 – available in the Upgrade Center now!
|
|
|
|

|
|
Build your expertise: organizational transformation certificate
|
|
Earn a certificate in organizational transformation from ASUG and Open Sesame – plus earn 5 SHRM PDCs. This offer is open to all SuccessFactors customers (including non-ASUG members) through the end of 2017. Register online and you will receive instructions in a follow-up email. The certificate requires completion of 5 online courses and can be completed in one day.

Goodbye Service Marketplace, hello Help Portal
|
|
In December, SAP SuccessFactors will stop maintaining product documentation in the Service Marketplace. Should you try to access Service Marketplace after this time, you will be redirected to our Help Portal page. If you bookmarked a document on Service Marketplace and you attempt to open it after this time, you will see a file-not-found message.

Changes are coming to the customer community
|

Our community is THE PLACE for engagement with each other and with us. We have been gathering feedback through 2017 and are preparing to make a number of significant updates. Three changes we anticipate in the coming months include:

Empowerment Center and product pages – We are redesigning these critical pieces of the community to make them more navigable and streamlined.
|

|
Translated content – In phases, starting with basic navigation, we will translate some of the community's content into Latin American Spanish, German, simplified Chinese, Japanese, French, and Russian, to provide a more global experience.
|
•
|
Personalization – Through the power of personalization software, we will begin to highlight information for users based on their activities and interests.
|
|
|
These changes will go beyond look and feel updates to make our community more accessible, enjoyable and, most of all, engaging. We can’t wait to share them with you!

The Call for Speakers is open until December 1st.
