Open Source Innovation
Containers are becoming a go-to option for software developers building and deploying applications, but no one wants to be locked into one cloud based on a development platform.

So Oracle has launched a new platform to manage containers and microservices based on true open source standards, including the Kubernetes container orchestration system. It's just one example of how Oracle is working to make sure the Oracle Cloud Platform remains open.

"We're taking the important open source innovation and providing automation, management, and enterprise-grade capabilities around that," says Amit Zavery, Oracle senior vice president for cloud platform. Companies need a strong cloud platform to bring new ideas and innovation into their organization, whether it's blockchain-powered data sharing or API-first development approaches. See more examples in "5 Ways Oracle Keeps Its Cloud Platform Open."
