About six months from go-live. Any lessons learned, tools or pitfalls to avoid?

Agree with the above. Also check the user group forums, lots of good threads there.
Test with real data, not just the happy path. That's where we found most issues.
Make sure someone owns integrations after go-live. Ours went orphaned for a while.
Our rule: no customization without a named business owner.
It depends a lot on how customized you are. Inventory that first.
